DUKE CENTER RESIDENT SCAMMED OUT OF $6,500
LEWIS RUN — On the after of September 9, the troopers of the Lewis Run Patrol Unit of the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched for a report of theft on Main Street in Otto Township, McKean County.
During investigation it was determined that the 57 year old had sent gift cards, totaling $6,500, to an unidentified suspect who was posing as a financial fraud department.
The investigation is ongoing, and the PSP reminds residents that any phone calls where someone is requesting payment by gift card is a scam.
MINOR INJURIES, ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT
LEWIS RUN — Officers of the Pennsylvania State Police Lewis Run Barracks responded to a one vehicle accident on Route 46 North near Fitch Hill Road, at 5:07 p.m. on September 8.
According to the report, Benjamin T. Simms, 28, of Coudersport, was negotiating a curve in the road and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV exited the roadway, struck a guardrail, then spun 45 degrees before coming to a final rest in the middle of the road.
Though Simms sustained only minor injuries, the vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Donovan’s Towing.
PSP was assisted on the scene by the towing company, Otto Township VFD, Rew VFD, and the City of Bradford Ambulance.

FELONY CHARGES
RIDGWAY — The Ridgway Police Department reported that police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Donovan Cribbs, 18, of N. Mill Avenue, Ridgway. They took Cribbs into custody at his residence at 11:25 p.m. on September 9. He was arraigned by the on-call District Justice Mark Jacob and then committed to the Elk County Prison on $30,000 cash bail.
The charges are the result of an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of August 18 in many locations across Ridgway Borough.
Police reports of Cribbs charges include theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, criminal attempt at theft from a motor vehicle, loitering and prowling at night time, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and numerous traffic offenses.
