SMETHPORT — A Kane man has been charged following an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Game Commission.
On Saturday, McKean County PGC officers began an investigation into possible Game Law violations near Kane, according to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.
Following an investigation, Jared Smith of Kane was charged with possessing two firearms when he is prohibited from the possession of firearms. Bail was set at $30,000 by Magisterial District Judge Todd.
Kane Borough Police Officers Joseph Schmader and Michael Henry and Pennsylvania State Police assisted in the investigation.
According to Vettenburg-Shaffer, additional charges to be filed by the Game Commission are pending.
