First there was Kevin Bacon. Now there’s Snoop Hogg.
A pig that was recently rescued in Pennsylvania — one that takes his name from famed rapper and Martha Stewart cohort, Snoop Dogg — is in need of a home.
People reports how poor the six-month-old pig was initially spotted wandering the streets of Philadelphia, and was taken in by the Animal Care Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly).
People continues to state how Jayne Anne Bissell — dog care manager at the Sanctuary of Haafsville in Fogelsville, Lehigh County — then spotted Snoop Hogg while picking up rescue puppies from the shelter. She eventually decided to bring him back to the sanctuary.
“He didn’t look too great, so I though that another rescue that has the setup to take pigs would take him, but unfortunately, pigs are being dumped so frequently that all rescues, even for pigs, are full,” she explains to people. “So nobody could pull him. The next time I went back, he looked so pathetic, so I ended up taking him.”
According to the sanctuary’s website, those who rescued Snoop Hogg believe he was used as bait for dog fighting rings. He was treated for mange and eye issues, but — after a few days of care — is “doing great.” Now all he needs is a forever home.
“Pigs are not for everyone,” tells Bissell to Fox 29. “Ideally, he would like to be an indoor big with a big fenced yard to play. A pig friend would be lovely.”
