RIDGWAY — Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Ridgway Station were dispatched to a residence on Tuna Cross Road in Bradford at 6:50 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3 to assist with a fire investigation.
State police reports said a 55-year-old male was located deceased in the residence.
According to McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, obvious fire-related injuries to the man prompted police to request the services of the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal’s Unit.
Foster Brook Police Chief Tom Munn confirmed the deceased male in the residence was Richard Riel.
“The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of death and the cause of the fire. The investigation will remain ongoing pending the results of an autopsy and conclusion of the investigation,” stated Shaffer.
The Foster Township Police Department and the McKean County Coroner assisted the State Police and Fire Marshal Unit on scene.
