Kids and Cancer

Participants get ready to ride in the 2019 Kids & Cancer motorcycle benefit run. The Kids & Cancer organization is the recipient of the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce’s Director’s Award.

The Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the Annual Meeting & Award Presentation on May 6 at Pennhills Club, sponsored by Zippo Manufacturing Company.

Awards will be presented to the 2020 winners, as the award presentation for last year was cancelled due to the pandemic. This includes: Exemplary Business Award to Futures Rehabilitation Center; Community & Spirit Award to Kristin and Tim Asinger; BACC Director’s Award to Kids & Cancer Benefit and the Legacy Award to Dr. Steven Hardin.

The chamber has decided to start doing live in-person events again. All safety guidelines will be followed in regards to social distancing and mask wearing. The chamber has been getting feedback from the community that they feel safe engaging in person. People are getting vaccinated and cases are declining, however safety will still be a priority.

“We are so excited to recognize these award winners, who do great work to further strengthen our community,” stated Heidi Scrivo Passmore. “This is an annual event that people look forward to, so it is exciting to see a glimmer of normalcy return after a challenging year. We will also take time to recognize how our community pulled together to support our neighbors, first responders and local businesses over the last year.”

Tickets are currently on sale for the event. The cost is one ticket for $40 or two tickets for $75. Social hour will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and the presentations starting. Event sponsors include Zippo Manufacturing Company, Northwest Bank, Blaisdell Foundation, American Refining Group, Kessel Construction, and The Guidance Center.
