ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. — Holiday Valley Resort, the Ellicottville Brewing Co. and Southern Tier Brewery will salute the finest craft beers of the Northeast as they host the 12th annual Beer and Wine Festival at the Holiday Valley Lodge from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7.
Guests will be able to sample from more than 30 of the best New York state and American craft breweries and wines from New York, Southern Ontario and Ellicottville vintners. The three bands featured include Hit n Run, a six-piece party band; A Band Named Sue playing Johnny Cash, Elvis, Willie Nelson and the like; and Michael Nugent, a young Frank Sinatra, in the Wine Cellar on the ground floor.
Organizers said the festival is a “lively happening” with great beers and music and a fun-loving crowd. Attendees will be able to talk “beer” with the brewers and fellow beer lovers as they sample more than 100 craft beers.
Organizers said the local and regional breweries slated to take part include: Ellicottville Brewing Co., Southern Tier Brewery, Community Beer Works, Big Ditch Brewing Co., Brooklyn Brewery, Great Lakes Brewing Co., Rohrbachs Brewing, Voodoo Brewery, Victory Brewing, Ommegang, Sierra Nevada, Saranac Brewery (The Matt Brewing Co.), North Country Brewing Co., DG Yuengling, North American Breweries, Boston Beer Co., Wolavers/Otter Creek/Long Trail, Hamburg Brewing Co., Empire Brewing Co., Shiner Beer-Spoetzl Brewery, Muskoka Brewery, Erie Brewing Co. and craft beers from Certo Brothers and Consumers Beverages, plus Vermont Hard Cider, Cider Creek Hard Cider, McKenzie Hard Cider and Black Bird Hard Cider.
Several New York wineries will also pour in the new “Wine Cellar” on the ground floor of the lodge, including the Winery of Ellicottville, Black Willow Winery, Savage Winery, Victorianbourg Winery and many more.
Presale tickets for the festival are $52.50 and available online atholidayvalley.com/brewfest or at Wegmans. Tickets at the gate (if available) will be $60. Each ticket includes a $5 voucher to be used in the Bavarian-themed food service areas. Guests must be 21 or older to purchase tickets and attend the festival.
Preceding the festival, Friday night’s (Nov. 6) 10th annual Brew Masters Dinner features an exciting seven course meal. The evening is a tribute to Hollywood in the ’40’s and ’50’s where the stars were larger than life. Guests are encouraged to dress for the red carpet and prizes will be awarded for the best Hollywood star lookalikes.
The dinner will be held at the Holiday Valley Lodge with hors d’oeuvres beginning at 6 p.m., and dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Brewers will be on hand to discuss the pairing decisions. Most of the dishes will incorporate beer as a primary ingredient. Tickets are $65 per person and available online atholidayvalley.com/brewfest.
