SMETHPORT (EC) — Haberberger Disposal in Kane now displays decals of the logo of CASA of McKean County on two of its collection trucks in an effort to keep communities aware of this agency’s important mission.
CASA volunteer Karen Haberberger initiated this endeavor by purchasing the decals, and coordinated with her brother, Tom Haberberger, company owner, the placement of the logo decals.
The Ink Pad in Kane made the decals.
“This is such a generous and wonderful way to increase the awareness of CASA of McKean County and the work we do with abused and neglected children,” said Suzy Meyer-Page, executive director.
CASA of McKean County — Court Appointed Special Advocates — trains community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system.
The agency is always looking for new volunteers to help these vulnerable children. People who are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer can go to the CASA of McKean County website at http://www.casamckean.org to learn more about the program and fill out an online application.
