Races for county commissioner appear to be the main draws for the upcoming municipal general election Nov. 7.
Much of the ballots are for unopposed candidates, with only a few races heading into the general election.
For commissioners’ races, residents vote for two candidates. The top three vote-getters in the race are declared the winners. Each local county has four candidates for three seats on the board of commissioners.
In McKean County, candidates are Democrats Mary Ann Wilder and James M. Hilyer, and Republicans Carol Duffy and Tom Kreiner.
In Potter County, Democrats Jenna Maiuro Gurney and Jack Keifer and Republicans Paul W. Heimel and Nancy Grupp are all seeking a seat.
In Elk County, Democrats Matthew G. Quesenberry Sr. and Raymond J. Krise Jr. and Republicans M. Fritz Lecker and Greg Gebauer are all seeking one of three seats on the board of commissioners.
In Cameron County, candidates are Democrat Josh Zucal, Republicans Jessica Herzing and James Moate and non-partisan candidate Lisa Enck.
Also on the McKean County ballot were races for school board, and one race each for supervisor and borough council.
There are six candidates for five positions on the Bradford Area School board. Candidates are Carla JM Manion, Eric Marasco, Vickie Baker, Gretchen Daugherty, Naoma Tootell and Stephanie Scrivo.
Kane Area School District had six candidates for five seats: Thomas Kerek, Larry Scott Rudolph, Scott Paul, Derek Dangelo, Claire Ann Buckley and Wendy Oakes.
In Foster Township, Pam Campbell and Michael John Scrivo are both seeking a four-year term as supervisor.
And in Lewis Run, three candidates were competing for two seats on borough council: Dianna DeCasper, Jim Coldren and Scott Neely.
Many countywide seats were unopposed, including Rich Luther for the Bradford District Judge, Bill Todd for Smethport and Dave Engman for Kane. Michele L. Vogel-Snyder is unopposed for recorder of deeds, Wendy Yaros for register of wills and clerk of courts, Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer for district attorney and Michael Mascho for coroner.
In Potter County, there is a race for county auditor, with three people seeking two seats: Michele Gledhill, Kathy Wagner and Sherri Lamer.
There is a race in Coudersport Borough First Ward, where three candidates are seeking two seats. The candidates are Democrat Dennis E. Goodenough III, and Republicans Abigail Rossman and George E. Hults.
There is a race for Coudersport Area School board in Region II, where three candidates are seeking two seats. The candidates are Micki Brown, Craig L. Miller and Ken Johnston.
Many of the countywide seats for Potter are unopposed. Kevin Siska is unopposed for sheriff, Krista M. Miller for treasurer, Nicole F. Larsen for register of wills and recorder of deeds and Ashley Gledhill for prothonotary.
The candidates for district judge are unopposed as well. Bryan Phelps is the sole candidate for the Coudersport office, Kari McCleaft for the Shinglehouse office and Chris Kalacinski for the Galeton office.
In Elk County, two candidates are seeking the office of county treasurer, Connie Saline Herzing and Matthew Frey. Three candidates are seeking two offices of county auditor, Siobhan Voss, Sandra Caltagarone and Jean Zore.
There’s a race for Ridgway Borough Council, where six people are seeking three seats. Candidates are Zack Pontious, Frank Quattrone, Abbi Peters, Chris Matheson, Keith A. Mader Jr. and Ralph Dussia.
For St. Marys Council, four candidates are seeking three seats, Bob Roberts, Anthony J. Gregory, Joe Sarginger and Stephen Bagley.
Countywide unopposed races include Mark Jacob for district judge, Beau Grove for district attorney, Susanne Straub Schneider for prothonotary, Lee A. Neureiter for register and recorder, Michelle A. Muccio for coroner and Todd Caltagarone for sheriff.
In Cameron County, three candidates are seeking two seats for county auditor, Michael Fragale, Randy Horning and John Coppock. Six candidates are seeking four seats on Cameron County School Board, Jeremiah Fragale, Vanessa Bidwell, David Sullivan, Shawn McIsaac, Shelia Guisto and Jason Neyman.
Countywide unopposed races include Barry Brown II for district judge, Paul J. Malizia for district attorney, Tara Newton for county treasurer, Emily Crowell for coroner and Doug Homan for sheriff.
