ST. MARYS — New charges have been filed against an Emporium man St. Marys police say was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia when picked up on arrest warrants last year.
Shane R. Lyon, 44, his last known address listed as 1616 Rich Valley Road, was charged in St. Marys District Court on Friday with drug and drug paraphernalia possession counts in connection with his Oct. 9, 2014 arrest by city police.
An affidavit of probable cause obtained from Magisterial District Judge Mark Jacob’s office on Monday said police responded to a Kay Fork Road camp that morning to find Lyon inside.
With him, police said they found syringes, razors and smoking pipes made from light bulbs, as well as small quantities of stimulant bath salts, the painkillers Buprenorphine and Oxycodone, marijuana and Methylphenidate, a prescription stimulant often used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Lyon was transported to Elk County Prison in Ridgway on the outstanding arrest warrants.
He was charged Friday with four counts of intent to possess a controlled substance by a person not registered, one count of possessing a small amount of marijuana for personal use and four counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia, all ungraded misdemeanors.
A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled for March 24 in St. Marys District Court.
