Tidioute man missing since Sept. 27, found dead

WARREN — A missing Tidioute man, Maxwell James Lester, 29, who was last seen at his residence on Sept. 27, has been located and found to be deceased by Warren-based state police.

Police said his vehicle was found late Friday afternoon on Forest Route 119 in Limestone Township, near the Hickory Creek Wilderness. After successive searches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Lester was located at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday. He had been located approximately one mile north of the FR 119 parking area near Camp Run Creek.

The Warren County Coroner’s office responded to the scene, and Lester was successfully transported from the forest to Erie, where an autopsy will be performed. According to the Warren-based state police, there is no foul play suspected at this time.

Assisting in the searches were several Pennsylvania State Police members from the Warren Barracks, K9 handlers from the Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations with their canines, several Cherry Grove Township Volunteer Fire Department members and their canines, several Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department members and the Pa. Game Commission.
