A Port Allegany pair were jailed following arraignments over the weekend on allegations that they injured a child during a dispute.

Bethany Grimes, 25, and James Carr, 26, both of North Brooklynside Road, are each charged with endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree misdemeanors; recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and harassment, a summary offense.

According to the criminal complaints, at 2:09 p.m. Sunday, a state trooper answered a call for a domestic altercation and found the two engaging in a physical altercation over custody of a shared child. The child was injured in the altercation, the complaint stated.

Both were arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $5,000 bail each.

Preliminary hearings will be held for each on Nov. 15 before District Judge Bill Todd.

A Cyclone man is in McKean County Jail for an incident Saturday where he threatened to shoot the victim and anyone who tried to help her.

Tony Ray Cox, 49, of Woodard Road, is charged with terroristic threats, a third-degree felony; harassment, a third-degree misdemeanor; and two summary counts of harassment.

At 1:37 p.m. on Saturday, state police were dispatched to Cox’s residence for a reported domestic incident. When police were approaching, they saw Cox walking away from the residence with a firearm in his hands, the complaint stated.

Police interviewed the victim, who said she and Cox were involved in an argument that turned physical, that Cox was threatening to damage her car with a bat and that he pushed her while he was attempting to retrieve a firearm. He stated he was “going to shoot the victim and anyone that came to the residence, including the police,” the complaint stated.

He also threatened to rape the woman, the complaint alleged.

When police interviewed Cox, he said he wanted to scare the victim with the firearm.

He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for Nov. 15 before District Judge Bill Todd in Smethport.

An East Smethport woman is in McKean County Jail for allegedly entering someone else’s residence while she was high on methamphetamine.

Shayna Haggard, 21, of Route 6, East Smethport, is charged with criminal trespassing, a third-degree felony; criminal mischief, a summary offense; and public intoxication, a summary,

According to the criminal complaint, at 3:22 a.m. Sunday, the residents at 14 Melvin Avenue reported to police that someone had entered their home and was still inside. They said she was bleeding and appeared to be under the influence of something. The woman, identified as Haggard, said she was on drugs. The residents of the home said Haggard had broken the back door window and reached inside to unlock the door before entering their home. The victim yelled at her and she left.

When interviewed by police, Haggard said she had just smoked meth, the complaint read.

She was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. She was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 15.

A Bradford man has been charged after a domestic incident where he allegedly tried to choke his spouse.

Joshua M. Harvey, 33, of 56 South Ave., is charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; and harassment, a summary offense.

According to the criminal complaint, at 4:25 a.m. Oct. 3, police were dispatched to Harvey’s residence for a domestic. Police spoke to the victim, who said she and Harvey had argued and it turned physical. She said she grabbed onto him, then he got on top of her on the ground and started to choke her, asking her if she wanted to die. She told police she feared for her life.

Harvey was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 17.
