New part-time attorneys in the public defender’s and district attorney’s offices were announced at Tuesday’s meeting of the McKean County Commissioners.
On June 13, Kord Kinney began in the public defender’s office, and Casey Graffius began in the district attorney’s office.
Brenda Langan was hired as the county’s finance director, effective Monday. Matthew Sizska was hired as a conservation technician, effective May 31. As of May 23, Rachele Walker came on as a part-time corrections officer, while as of June 20, Caleb Benson and Ethan Sprankle were named part-time 911 dispatchers.
Scott Walker became a part-time correctional officer as of Monday.
In new business, the commissioners approved a letter of engagement for Maher Duessel to audit the 911 program of the county on behalf of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, at no cost to the county.
Ami Shavalier was appointed as resident board member of the McKean County Housing Authority board to fulfill the term of Sharon Zmuda, who resigned. The term will expire on Nov. 22, 2025.
The commissioners approved an application for the state food purchase program on behalf of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania for the Fiscal Year 2022-23.
Also at the meeting, the commissioners established partnership grants with McKean County Community Foundation for one open grant cycle of $250,000 in funds from the American Rescue Plan Funds for qualifying organizations with 10% distributed to the foundation for administration.
Ten Children and Youth Services agreements were approved, along with two foster care contracts and three other Department of Human Services agreements.
The next commissioners meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12.
