A Bradford man has been arrested and arraigned for the Christmas
Eve armed robbery of the Crosby Mini Mart in Lewis Run.
Dennis Michael Fuino, 48, is charged with two counts of robbery,
one a first-degree felony and one a third-degree felony; one count
of theft, a first-degree misdemeanor; and one count of simple
assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.
At 4:10 p.m. Monday, a robbery was reported at the Crosby on
U.S. Route 219 in Lewis Run, according to Kane-based state police,
who responded along with Bradford City and Township police.
Police found that a “middle-aged man wearing a leather jacket
and a hooded sweatshirt and driving a red in color Dodge extended
cab pickup truck” had entered the store and used a knife to
threaten the two workers, Gina Lipps, 21, and Jennifer Ryan, 19,
both of Bradford.
The man demanded money from the two cash registers, took the
money and fled the scene in the truck, police said.
Bradford City Police stopped a truck matching the description a
short time later. Using a photo lineup, the two Crosby workers were
able to positively identify Fuino as the man who had robbed the
store, police said.
Fuino was arrested and arraigned before on-call Magisterial
District Judge Michael Kennedy. Fuino was remanded to McKean County
Jail in Smethport without bail, as he had been out on bail for a
previous burglary allegation at the time this crime was allegedly
committed.
Meanwhile, police obtained a search warrant for the truck Fuino
was operating. Police recovered the money from Fuino’s truck, along
with a green felt-covered box containing women’s jewelry and
women’s leather coats.
Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with
information is asked to contact Kane-based state police.
