Hogue, Vinelli, and Frontino lead the Owls XC over DuBois and Ridgway
Bradford’s Jordan Hogan out sprinted Brett Sullivan of DuBois to take first place honors in a time of 17:15 Tuesday. The final score was Bradford 26 to DuBois 31. Bradford improved to 9-2 on the season.
“This was Jordan’s fastest time of the year. We had a stiff fight with DuBois and we really needed this first place and Jordan came through like he has done all year long. This was a very tough and hilly course. Freshman Charlie Vinelli was right there with the first two guys and he took third place in 17:26 just a scant three seconds behind Sullivan who ran 17:23,” Bradford Coach Tom Tessena said. “This was also Charlie’s best time. DuBois took 4th with Adam Kozak(17:47) to keep things close. Junior Nikolai Frontino finished 5th for Bradford in 18:23. This was a big place for us as DuBois next two runners, Josiah Moose and Isaiah Chewning were 6th and 7th in 18:53 and 18:54. This made the score 17 to 19 as Xavier Frontino placed 8th(18:57). Ridgway’s Colt Fizgerald was 9th (19:29). Kadyn Tessena placed 10th (19:38) to wrap up the win for Bradford.”
The Owls got the next four places with Gavin Weart ( 11th-19:45), Langdon Krepp(12th- 20:08), Cavan Drake (13th-20:41), and Miles Hawk (14th-21:26) for good measure.
“We were still tired from Saturday’s meet in Rochester where we underperformed but the guys took this meet seriously. We don’t run again until next Tuesday,” Tessena said. “We will be hosting Elk County Christian in our final home meet of the season and we will be honoring our Seniors, Kadyn Tessena and Cavan Drake. The meet will start at 4:00 with the Middle School boys and girls. Then we will honor our Senior boys and girls. The Varsity Boys and Girls will run after a short break. This also will be Coach Tom Tessena’ s last home meet.
The Middle School Boys won again, making their dual meet record 11-0. 7th grader Trey Jackson placed 1st in a time of 13:13 for the two mile layout. Breyden Sipko was right behind him for 2nd(13:26). There was a tricky turn with no one there to direct our guys and Brayden and Trey were leading and went by the turn. Breyden had a little further distance to back track and lost some time. They both recovered and still got the two top spots. Lars Krepp took 3rd place (13:40) outsprinting Nevada Sell of DuBois who took 4th(13:44). Bradford’s Kaiden Christjohn grabbed 5th place(14:11) and Brock Crappio placed 6th to seal the win for the Baby Owls. Braxton Plowman placed 9th(17:15) for the Owls.
“These guys are fun to watch. They are very excited for their last dual meet,” Tessena said.
