The Owls had some strong performances at Elk county on Tuesday to pick up two wins against Elk and Clarion but lost to Punxsutawney. Final scores were: Bradford 32,  Punxy 23;  Bradford 20,  ECC 39; and Bradford 19,  Central Clarion 39.

Junior Jordan Hogue and freshman Charlie Vinelli led the Owls taking 4th(17:52) and 5th (17:52).  Miles Conrad of Punxsy  took first place in 16:32 to lead Punxsy to victory.  Nikolai Frontino placed 8th in 18:17 followed by Kadyn Tessena in 9th in 18:37.

“It was great to finally get Kadyn back from an ankle injury.  He was our top returning runner from last year and we have struggled a bit without him.  The other guys have really worked hard to keep us going in his absence,” Bradford Coach Tom Tessena said.

Xavier Frontino placed 15th(19:11 and Gavin Weart finished 16th(19:21).  Miles Hawk took 19th (20:06), Langdon Krepp was 20trh (20:11), and Cavan Drake took 26th (21:01).  This makes are dual meet record 5-2.

“I think everyone of our guys had a personal best for the year.  They looked so much better than they did at our Invitational on Saturday.  We are now going in the right direction,” Tessena said. “We had a good day for running and weren’t running in mud and that was helpful.  We are off this weekend and will run at Ridgway next on Tuesday.  We now have 4 pretty good runners with several others making good progress.”

The Fretz Middle School team pick up three more wins to run their record to 7-0. They defeated Punxsy  25-30, Elk County 15 -40, and clarion 16 -42.     Henry Janocha of Punxsy was the individual winner in a time of 9:41.  Brayden Sipko led the baby Owls with a 3rd place in 9:55.  He had strong support with Caleb Weart in 4th place(10:05), Lars Krepp in 5th (10:13), Trey Jackson took 6th(10:14), and Kaiden Christjohn was 8th( 10:40).  Brock Crappio placed 12th(10:57) and Braxton Plowman was 18th(12:59).

“For the second straight meet everyone recorded another personal best time.  These guys are really fun to work with.  Their next meet will also be next Tuesday at Ridgway,” Tessena said.
