JCC offers professional development courses
SUNY Jamestown Community College will offer professional development courses this fall through its Workforce Development department.
The schedule includes courses in communication, team building, leadership, human resources and project management.
“Investing in professional development is an investment in both employees and the organizations they work for,” said Jackie Patterson, Workforce Development program manager at JCC. “We’ve designed our fall offerings to address practical skills that professionals can take back to the workplace and put into practice right away.”
Courses offered at JCC locations in Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties include:
- Communication Effectiveness, 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 24, with instructor Katrina Jones;
- Building Trust & the Helping Relationship, 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 30, with instructor Susan LaGraves;
- Building High Performing Teams, 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 1, with Jones;
- New Supervisor Training, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 16 through Oct. 7, with Jones and Ginine Capozzi; and
- Human Resource Fundamentals, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 22 through Oct. 20, with Jones.
JCC also will offer two live online courses through Zoom: Notary Public from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 and Project Management Professional Certification from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 5-9.
The courses are open to individuals seeking to develop professional skills and employers interested in training opportunities for their employees.
