Phyllis Walter
KANE — Phyllis M. Walter, 91, of Kane, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the Lutheran Home in Kane.
She was born in Kane on Febr. 17, 1935, to John and Dina (Caruso) Walter. Phyllis attended St. Callistus School and was a 1953 graduate of Kane High School. She worked at Dorthy’s Record Shop and the Temple Theater during high school. She worked for 19 years at Stackpole and various restaurants, including the Colonial Inn, Papa Nicks and the Arlington, to name a few.
Phyllis enjoyed her life immensely, enjoying five cruises and 20 Willie Nelson concerts. On one occasion, she was allowed to take photos of the interior of Willie’s bus. Phyllis remained single her whole life and enjoyed her free time to spend with friends and do as she please.
She is survived by two brothers, Donald (Sandy) Walter of Reynoldsville and Mike “Ike” (Karen) Walter of Kane, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Walter.
Memorials can be made in Phyllis’ honor to the Friends of Memorial Library, 230 Chase St., Kane, Pa., 16735.
Per her request there will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Callistus Church, 342 Chase St., on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William O’Brien as celebrant.
