SMETHPORT — Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation is now under new ownership and has been renamed Amaryllis Nursing and Rehab Center, facility administrator Patricia Barber announced in a letter to residents, families and the community.

The change follows the sale of Lakeview and several other former Bonamour Health Group nursing facilities after no competing bids were submitted during the court-supervised bankruptcy process. The facilities were sold to the previously approved “stalking horse” bidder, 980 Investments and Heart Healthcare Management LLC.

In her letter, Barber said the transition reflects a commitment to strengthening resident care, expanding clinical resources and building on the facility’s connection to the community.

“We want to assure you that our priority remains the same: delivering the highest level of quality care in the most home-like environment possible,” Barber wrote. “Residents can expect the same familiar faces, compassionate staff and personalized attention they have come to rely on, now backed by additional resources, clinical support and operational expertise under our new ownership.”

Barber said day-to-day operations, resident care plans and staffing will continue without interruption. She added the leadership team is committed to open communication throughout the transition and welcomes the opportunity to meet with residents and families to answer questions and address concerns.

Barber said the new ownership is investing in staff training, clinical resources and quality improvement initiatives.

“Our goal is not simply to maintain the standard of care this facility has built its reputation on, but to build upon it, ensuring residents and families continue to feel confident, supported and truly at home,” Barber wrote.

Barber thanked residents, families and the surrounding community for their continued trust, saying the facility’s leadership is committed to carrying that trust forward under the new ownership.

The ownership change follows the bankruptcy of Bonamour Health Group, the facility’s former parent company. Last year, court-appointed receiver Michael Flanagan confirmed that Lakeview and five other facilities would be sold after no additional bidders registered for the scheduled auction.
