Port Allegany sends seven to States
A total of seven Port Allegany athletes earned 11 medals across eight events, including five district titles at the District 9 Class AA Track and Field Championships Friday in Brookville. Ethan Tarbox, the defending D9 discus champion, repeated as district champion with a winning throw of 165'1" breaking the school record he set earlier this season.  ethan followed that up by winning the shot put title with a throw of 52'3".  Lily Lehmeier won the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 59.35 seconds.  Isla Lehmeier won the 800-meter run in 2:23.56, once again breaking the school record that she set a week earlier at the NTL Championships. Alex Schott and Isac Amell each medaled in the triple jump.  Schott earned the fifth -place medal, while Isac earned fourth place with a season-best jump.  Amell also took fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 16.61 seconds.  The night was capped off with the girls 4x400-meter relay team winning the D9 title with a time of 4:10.69.  The team of Isla Lehmeier, Lily Lehmeier, Alyssa Pelchy, and Kylee Pelchy broke their own school record, set earlier this season.  Tarbox, Lily and Isla Lehmeier, and Alyssa and Kylee Pelchy will all compete at the PIAA State Track & Field Championships May 22-23.
