Penny Palutro
IRWIN — Penny L. Palutro, 79, of Irwin passed peacefully April 24, 2026, in Butler. She was born March 4, 1947, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late William C. Hursh and Geraldine Watson Hursh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Palutro, in 2024; a son, Curtis Palutro; two brothers, Blair and Larry Hursh; and an infant sister.
Penny is survived by her children, Craig (Kylene) Palutro and Gina Marie (John) Kibbie; eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Grace, Nathan, Ben, Chris, Nic, Sam and Justin; two great-grandsons; and a daughter-in-law, Amy Palutro. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Penny was a devoted pastor’s wife for more than 30 years and a faithful servant to her church community. She worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for more than 20 years, dedicating her life to caring for others. She found great joy in serving as a song leader and being actively involved in children’s ministries, as well as decorating the church for special occasions.
Known for her tender heart, Penny was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a deeply caring and humble woman who consistently put others before herself. She loved to stay busy and found happiness in cooking, keeping her home, crafting and sewing. She also cherished her beloved dog, Liddy.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday (April 29, 2026) at Ott Funeral Home Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., where a service will immediately follow. Burial will be private.
