Anita Benjamin
SMETHPORT — Anita L. Benjamin, 86, of Smethport passed away Saturday (April 25, 2026) surrounded by her family, at Sena Kean Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 14, 1940, in East Smethport, the daughter of Cecil and Crystabel Smith Grinolds. On July 8, 1960, in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, she married Ronald C. “Skip” Benjamin, who died Aug. 29, 2012.
Anita was a graduate of Smethport Area High School and was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family.
Anita and her husband, Skip, enjoyed camping and were camp hosts for the Pennsylvania Park System. They had hosted Pymatuning State Park as well as Chapman State Park for several years.
She is survived by one daughter, Belinda L. (David) Goodling of Rixford; two grandchildren, Tyler M. (Katherine) Smead of Port Allegany and Kaitlin C. Smead of North Olmstead, Ohio; a stepgrandson, Brandon S. Goodling of Bradford; four great-grandchildren, Addy, Bristol, Cadence and Dawson Smead; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anita was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda C. Marsh; and a brother, Cecil M. Grinolds Jr.
In keeping with Anita’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
