Julie Yeager

ELDRED — Julie Ann Yeager, beloved sister and aunt, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (March 8, 2026) at her home in Eldred.

Julie was born in France, the daughter of Robert and Nancy Schneller Yeager, while her father was stationed there, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Julie graduated from John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas, in 1975. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at The Homeport Insurance Co. in Charleston, SC.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Post 166, with which she did yearly trips. She was also a member of Post 887 and of the LA Societe La Femme, a support group for the veterans group called the 40 & 8. She was a member of the swim class for ladies at the Bradford YMCA, also doing monthly lunches with the ladies. She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Tuesday Crafting Group with the Church of Christ in Bradford. She was also a longtime member of the Red Hat Society. Julie never missed an episode of her favorite shows, “Yellowstone” and “Outlander,” which she named her fur babies after, Jamie and Claire.

Julie is survived by her brother, Steve E. (Amy Hill) Yeager; and Eddie Coast, who was like a second brother; four nieces, Kimberly (Josh) Bolibaugh, Tamra (Jeff Baker) Yeager, Brittney (Cullen Playter) Yeager and Brandi (Korby) Evans; great-nieces and great-nephews Dakota, Natalee, Olivia, Addison, Hazel and Hunter; her fur baby, Jamie; and good friends, Dell Simpson, Martha Olinger and the Swim Girls from the YMCA.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Nancy, and her fur baby, Claire Bear.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (March 14, 2026) at Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean, N.Y., where a funeral will immediately follow.  A private entombment, next to her parents, will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
