Cynthia Buckheit

Cynthia S. Buckheit, 80, of Port Allegany went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday (Feb. 14, 2026).

Born Nov. 10, 1945, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Marian Forslund Sawyer.

Cindy was a woman whose life was marked by faith in the Lord and her quiet strength was an encouragement to those around her. From a young age, she loved the Lord and remained devoted to Him throughout her life. Her relationship with Christ shaped every part of who she was as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and servant. Her family will always remember her smiles and her hugs, her “Lord Bless Yous,” and that she always waved goodbye from the porch. To know Cindy was to be prayed for and loved. She lived out the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, praising the Lord in every situation, good or bad. Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Cindy attended Port Allegany schools and later received her certified nursing assistant (CNA) credential.  She enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Gardening was always a passion and her yard was lovely.

Surviving are one son, Jerry (Jeanie) Anderson of Bradford; four grandchildren, Danielle Anderson, Catherine Vos, Carolyn Fausey and Amelia Garges; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie (Frank) Skvarek of The Villages, Fla., and Sue (Tony) Rowe of Muncie, Ind.; one brother, Mike (Brenda) Sawyer of Port Allegany; several nieces and nephews; and her best buddy, Carson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, James E. Anderson, Leon K. “Brud” Bunker and Robert M. Buckheit; one son, Joel Anderson; and one stepdaughter, Debbie Colosimo.

Family will receive friends 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (Feb. 21, 2026) at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Dan Todd, senior pastor of Hillside Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library, 201 E. Maple St., Port Allegany, PA 16743.

Funeral arrangements are under direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. Online condolences may be expressed at hollenbeckcahill.com.
