Debbie Defibaugh

SMETHPORT — Debbie A. Defibaugh, 70, of Smethport passed away Sunday (Feb. 8, 2026) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 1, 1955, in Kane, a daughter of John and Elaine Leichtenberger Boylan. On Oct. 1, 1977, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mount Jewett, she married Benjamin R. Defibaugh, who died Nov. 18, 2011.

Mrs. Defibaugh was a graduate of Smethport Area High School, Class of 1973. She worked at Kane Magnetics until 2005 and then went to work as a purchasing agent for Keystone Tool & Die of Weston Mills, N.Y.

Debbie was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, where she was a former organist.

She is survived by a son, John B. Defibaugh of Smethport; significant other, Frank Dean of Jamestown, N.Y.; one brother, David “Mitch” (Sue) Boylan of Mount Jewett; two sisters, Helen (Frank) Boylan-Funari of New Wilmington and Lori (Ralph) Moyer of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Debbie was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Monday (Feb. 16, 2026) at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
