SMETHPORT — Seneca Highlands Intermediate Unit 9 is partnering with First In Math to launch a month‑long Love Math Challenge, inviting students, families and educators across the region to celebrate math through friendly online competition. The challenge runs March 2 through April 3 and is free for all IU9 schools.

First In Math is a digital learning platform offering hundreds of math games for all ages. Used in schools worldwide, the program has helped students solve more than 40 billion problems while building fluency and confidence.

During the challenge, students across IU9 will work to solve as many problems as possible. The top‑performing school will be named the IU9 Love Math Challenge champion and receive free First In Math prizes.

“Math confidence grows when students get lots of low‑stakes practice in a fun environment,” said Bonnie Burgess of Seneca Highlands IU9. “The Love Math Challenge gives our students exactly that.”

Who: All IU9 students may participate at no cost.

• Sign in using the first word of your school name as the username (see your school’s login flyer)
• Use the password lovemath for all players

Goal: Play from a library of 250-plus online math games and solve as many problems as possible during the 30‑day challenge.

Participation is optional, but IU9 encourages educators to share the virtual postcard and flyer so families and community members can log in and support their local school.
