‘Round the Square: Don’t tell Bradley Cooper
SNACKS: For some people, the Super Bowl is about football. For the rest of us, it’s about snacks — and Pennsylvania has made its loyalties very clear.
A new study from Casino.ca looked at Google Trends and social chatter across all 50 states (plus D.C.) to figure out what everyone’s reaching for on game day. The Keystone State’s top pick? Buffalo wings. No surprise there — and apparently we like to double down by dunking them in buffalo chicken dip before washing everything down with a cold beer.
Pennsylvania is far from alone in its wing devotion. Thirty states crowned wings their No. 1 Super Bowl snack, making them the undisputed national champ. Beer also took the top spot for game‑day drinks across the country, and buffalo chicken dip reigned supreme in the dip category.
Pizza came in second nationwide, with states like New Mexico and Nevada pledging their allegiance to a good slice. Salsa and cheese dips also earned regional love — Idaho and Kansas, respectively, stood firmly behind them.
Then there were the outliers, the states marching to the beat of their own snack drum. Hawaii chose chocolate chip cookies as its favorite Super Bowl food. Minnesota and South Dakota went all‑in on loaded potato skins. And a handful of states — including California, Florida and Illinois — prefer to sip wine instead of beer during the big game.
Meanwhile, Georgia stood alone in its devotion to the classic seven‑layer dip.
Whether you’re a wing purist, a dip devotee or someone who thinks cookies belong at kickoff, one thing is clear: Super Bowl Sunday is as much a food holiday as it is a football one — don’t tell Bradley Cooper.
