Ronald Cole
CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Ronald Cole, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Charleston, was peacefully taken to his Heavenly home by God’s Angels on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025.
Ron was a graduate of Smethport Area High School, Class of 1965. He attended Penn State University and began his career at Graybar Electric Co., St. Louis, where he worked for 13 years. He worked 36 years for McJunkin Corp., Charleston, retiring in 2014 as senior vice president of its electrical division.
Ron felt his calling was to restore and maintain church structures. Starting at age 27 with Rock Lake Presbyterian Church in St. Louis; Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, which was restored after a fire; and Morris Memorial United Methodist Church, where a new sanctuary was built in Charleston. He shared his building talents with his family, in building our first home in 1972 and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
Ron is survived by his mother, Vina, of Smethport; his wife, Nancy Clark Cole, of 59 years; sons Ron Jr. (Sherry) of Cross Lanes, W.Va., Bryan (Lori) of Clearwater, Fla., and Chad of Elkview, W.Va.; grandchildren Austin, Jordyn, Kelsey, Korey, Tyler, RC and Maddox; great-grandchildren Devon, Leighton, Aubree, Mia, Cooper and Jovie; brothers, Roger of Lewis Run, Courtney (Kris) of Smethport and Todd of Bradford.
Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn; father, Herman; and granddaughter, Autumn.
Family and friends will gather from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, where a celebration of Ronald’s life will immediately follow with Chaplain Bruce Reed officiating. All are invited to T&M Meats/Bistro, Cross Lanes, following the service.
