Daniel Ross
JOHNSONBURG — Daniel R. Ross, 77, of Rose Street died Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2026) at Penn Highlands Elk.
A son of the late Robert and Esther DeLullo Ross, he was born July 9, 1948, in Johnsonburg.
Dan is survived by a sister-in-law, Sandy Ross; a brother-in-law, Chuck Simpson; a nephew, Bob (Denise) Ross of Ridgway; a niece, Michele Fabris in Virginia; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother, William Ross; and his sister, Bobbie Ann Simpson.
Dan was a 1968 graduate of Johnsonburg schools. He went to the U.S. Navy after high school and retired from the Navy after 24 years as chief petty officer. He then went on to work at the Bradford Post Office for many years. He also spent many years volunteering for several different tasks at the Central Hose Company, where he was a member. Dan was a past member of the Wilcox Legion, Wilcox Sportsmen’s and some other local organizations. He was born and raised in Johnsonburg, lived 24 years in Florida while with the Navy and the rest of his life in Johnsonburg.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday (Jan. 23, 2026) at Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Johnsonburg with Father David Wilson.
Military honors were accorded by the Johnsonburg/Ridgway Servicemen’s Detail. Interment will take place in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
