HS Roundup: Port A bocce, boys hoops claim wins

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

Port Allegany 58, Coudersport 31

Nick Wilfong scored 13 points and Isac Amell, Jarrod Funk and Liam Hawver each contributed 10 as the Gators outscored the Falcons. Funk also brought down eight rebounds, while Amell pulled in six rebounds and had six assists.

Leading Coudersport were Lawson Wetzel with 10 tallies and Drew VanWhy with nine.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Otto-Eldred 49, Oswayo Valley 20

The Lady Terrors led 31-6 at the half and used an 11-point third quarter to secure the win Thursday.

O-E’s Jahden Smith and Ayla VanScoter led the offense with nine points each, while VanScoter also had three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Also putting in strong performances for the Lady Terrors were Baylee Francis with six points, five assists and six steals and Rayel Hakes with eight points, four boards, two assists and three steals.

 

Bradford 50, Brockway 46

Bradford’s Haley Keane posted 27 points during Thursday’s win over Brockway. Also keying the Lady Owls’ offense were Alexis Kicior with eight points and Maranda Davis with six.

For Brockway, S. Schmader and R. Spinda each put up 13 points.

 

Austin 47, Smethport 36

Austin’s Lilly Clinger scored 28 points and Kadence McKeirnan added 11 as the Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Hubbers Thursday.

Keying the Smethport offense were Madey McKean with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Cassidy Szuba added 10 tallies.
