Patricia Hitchcock
Patricia Hitchcock, 91, formerly of Lafferty Hollow, most recently of Chapel Ridge, passed away Saturday (Jan. 17, 2026) at Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born Sept. 24, 1934, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Norman S. Ellis and Teresa H. Bowen. Pat was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School.
Pat and Richard, who preceded her in death, celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Her working career included employment with Tuna Valley Savings and Loan, Forest Oil (as an executive secretary for 25 years), and the Glendorn Foundation. Privately, Pat worked doing bookkeeping and taxes, and provided clerical services.
Given a heart of compassion and Christian service, Pat was a longtime member of Sawyer United Methodist Church and, later, Rew United Methodist Church. She enthusiastically participated in Sunday school, choir and missions, as well as doing bookkeeping and holding various church offices throughout her life. Pat also loved being a member of the Abundant Life singing group, which traveled throughout the region performing at numerous churches.
Pat had a true servant’s heart and helped the Bradford area community in many capacities. To name a few, she was a member of the Sigma Alpha sorority, which contributed to various community service events; Cub Scout leader; Bradford Ecumenical Home board member; and was part of the Friendship Table, feeding those in need.
Pat also thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Women’s Literary Club.
Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia is survived by one daughter, Beth (Michael) McLaughlin of Marietta, Ga.; one son, Richard (Julie) Hitchcock of Russell; two grandchildren, Sarah (Brett) Matve of Sugar Grove and Zachary (Katie) Hitchcock of Fort Collins, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Adalyn Matve, Ayla Matve and Harper Hitchcock; one sister, Karen Bowen of Colorado Springs; and numerous cousins.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in early spring to be held at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
