Alicia Schott
ERIE — Alicia Marie Schott, known by many as “Dish,” 63, of Millcreek Township, Erie, passed away at UPMC Hamot Hospital on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Born in Lackawanna County on Feb. 20, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Gloria Bilski Schott.
After graduating from Bradford Central Christian High School in 1980, Alicia began her career in dietary services at Bradford Children’s Home within the same year. In 1984, she then moved to Erie and began a long career working in the fragrance/cosmetics department at Kaufmann’s and later Macy’s department store. Before retiring in 2024, she finished her career as a secretary for District Magistrate Carney, starting in 2012.
For her, time was always well spent surrounded by others; she enjoyed family meals and dining out; (we always knew the food was delicious if she was humming a tune with a look of content on her face and that big, beautiful smile). She also loved adding to her fragrance collection, solving crossword puzzles, listening to music and, most of all, spending quality time with her family and friends.
Alicia was an amazingly genuine and beautiful soul that shone brightly for all to see. She was always sincere and generously shared her heartfelt smile and kindness with everyone she came across. Wherever you’d go with her, there would be someone who knew her, greeting her with a smile and a hug. She truly enjoyed life with others laughing, listening and creating memories. Within her lifetime, she filled many hearts with love, making her a gift to those surrounding her!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime boyfriend, Richard Fabac.
She is survived by her brother, Brad Schott, and his wife Felicia, and their children, Spencer and Evelyn; her uncle, Paul Bilski, and his wife Priscilla; her aunt, Christine Ryczak, and her husband, Ron; many loving cousins, and the Fabac family, who were her second family. All of those who knew her loved her and will continue to love and cherish her memory.
Private arrangements are under direction of Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St.
