PORT ALLEGANY — Brenda J. Triplett, 79, of Port Allegany died Tuesday (Dec. 2, 2025) at Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital.

Born May 27, 1946, in St. Marys, she was a daughter of Roy E. and Hazel E. Cleaveland Wertz. On April 6, 1963, in Cody, Wyo., she married Samuel Gordon Triplett, who predeceased her on June 25, 2003.

A graduate of Port Allegany High School, she was a homemaker raising her children. Brenda was an artist and was commissioned by many local people for her artwork. She was a member of Port Allegany Alliance Church.

Surviving are four children, Brenda (Todd) Langan of Ulysses, John (Sonya) Triplett of Eldred, Sam (Rachel) Triplett of Eldred and Holly (Jason) McGarvey of Port Allegany; two stepchildren, Tony Daniels and Tammy Ito, both of Casper, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan L. (Ivan) Freer of Port Allegany; a brother, Roy E. Wertz Jr. of Roulette; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two infant children; two sisters, Marilyn J. Slaugenhaupt and infant sister Janice Marie Wertz.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (Dec. 5, 2025) at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Switzer Chapel, 77 Willow St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 6, 2025). The Rev. Stephen Kroh will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
