Florann Burley
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Our beloved “Grammy Flo,” Florann Conklin Burley, 97, of Winter Haven went to be with God at 12:03 a.m. Nov. 23, 2025, with her daughter and son at her side. “Foo” and her fun loving presence is already missed by those who were fortunate to spend time with her.
Born in Bradford, Pa., on Dec. 10,1927, Flo lived through the Great Depression and many wars, but you’d never have known it. She had a spirit unaffected by the darkness in the world and brought light wherever she went. The baby of four children, Flo had a wonderful upbringing in her favorite place, Bradford, and often talked of all her memories of family and friends. She outlived most of them! A 1946 graduate of Bradford High, Flo enjoyed many years of bowling, cards and outings with lifelong friends. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Florann was predeceased by her husband, Russell Burley Sr.; her son, Russell (Mary) Burley; mother and father, Alta and Milton Conklin; sister, Kay Keane; and brothers Frank and Max Conklin.
She leaves behind her daughter and best friend, Linda Layo; and her loving son, Danny (ChaCha) Burley; grandchildren Michelle (Kristian), Michael (Jamie), Eileen (Chris) and Both (Pai); and great-grandchildren, Brady, Ava, Jaxon, Gracie and Pearl, who were often by her side; as well as many nieces and nephews, which is a testament to how special she was. They loved spending time with her playing games, watching sports or enjoying her favorite meals, which were many.
At Flo’s request there will be no services, but a celebration of life will be held in the near future.
