Christopher McFall

PORT ALLEGANY — Christopher James McFall, 42, of Port Allegany passed away Sept. 6, 2025.

Born April 11, 1983, in Olean, N.Y., Chris — known for his generous heart and adventurous spirit — brought warmth, laughter and light into the lives of all who knew him. His presence was unforgettable, and the love he gave was unconditional.

Chris was a devoted father above all else. His greatest joy was spending time with his two sons, Valon and Callum McFall, whom he lovingly referred to as his best friends. Whether bonding over their shared love of reptiles or enjoying the outdoors with their beloved dog, Nanook, Chris poured his heart into fatherhood and made every moment with his boys count.

He is survived by his loving parents, James and Candie McFall; brothers Matt (Samantha) and Cody McFall; his sister, Kayla, and brother-in-law, Keith VanCamp, with whom he shared a special bond; and his five nephews — Grady, Dravyn, Beau, Otto and Cooper. He is also survived by his grandmother, Dawn Spencer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, including close relationships with Ricky “Vinnie” Slade, Candice McFall, Amanda McFall Lyons and Ashley Kephart.

Chris valued his lifelong friendships deeply. He remained close to his childhood best friend, Leon Sherwood, and shared lasting connections with Nick Kirby and Dan Moore Sr. One of the most meaningful friendships in his life was with Roger “Pops” Laktash, a relationship built on loyalty, laughter and countless shared memories.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Maxine McFall; his maternal grandparents, Alton and Helen Spencer; his uncle Dave “Digger” McFall; and aunts Amy and Sandra McFall.

Chris had a deep love for the outdoors and was never happier than when he was on the water, especially kayaking along the Allegany River. He was a talented artist with a creative soul and recently found joy and pride in woodworking, crafting pieces that reflected both his skill and heart. A passionate movie fan — especially of horror films — he curated a unique and expansive DVD collection that showcased his eclectic tastes. Above all, Chris will be remembered for his kind and giving nature. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His free spirit, compassion and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 13, 2025) at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., where a memorial service will immediately follow. Pastor Roger Laktash will officiate. A luncheon will take place at Turtlepoint Evangelical Church, 15 Chapel Lane, Turtlepoint, PA 16731. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to his sons, Valon and Callum McFall, at Hamlin Bank and Trust
