Boozy Book Fair brings ’90s nostalgia to Bradford while giving back
A beloved childhood tradition is getting a grown-up twist this fall. The United Way of the Bradford Area and On the Side Books are teaming up to host the Boozy Book Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at On the Side Books.
Proceeds benefit both the Bradford Area Public Library and the United Way’s Annual Campaign, “A Century of Service – 100 Years United.”
Admission is just $5, with 100% of ticket sales donated directly to the Bradford Area Public Library. A cash bar featuring a small selection of seltzers, wine, beer, a signature cocktail and mocktail, soda and water will be available for purchase, with proceeds from drink sales benefiting the United Way’s 100th annual campaign. Funds raised will help support vital community programs and services across the region.
Guests will enjoy a fun-filled night of nostalgia, featuring a Build-a-Bookmark Station and a ’90s-themed photo booth complete with props. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the event and arrive in their best ’90s-inspired outfits.
“I’m really excited to be partnering with the United Way of Bradford to bring a Boozy Book Fair event to our area,” said Heather Whittemore, owner of On the Side Books. “In addition to the ticket admission, we will have a donation jar on the counter, and I will donate $5 from each Insider Membership sold during the first week of September. I’ve added a lot of new merchandise to the store: socks, notebooks, bookmarks, magnets, stickers, keychains, greeting cards, cups, candles, plushies and more. There really is something for everyone! I want to give a special shout-out to Britney Griesbaum — without her kindness, this wouldn’t have been in the pipeline for 2025!”
United Way of the Bradford Area Executive Director Sarah Lonzi added, “This event is a perfect example of what makes Bradford special — neighbors coming together to support local businesses and local organizations like our library. We’re thrilled to bring something new, fun and nostalgic to the community, while also raising funds for our 100th annual campaign.” Advance tickets are available for purchase by contacting On the Side Books.
