Pa. nun chases, catches thief: ‘It happens so fast’

(TNS) — She’s made a habit of fighting crime.

A nun in Pennsylvania chased down someone who tried to steal someone’s credit cards the other day. And this isn’t even the first time said Sister has done something like this, either.

According to WPXI, Sister Mary Madalyn was working at her Sacred Heart of Jesus Store on Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood when the incident occurred.

CBS Local Pittsburgh reports that a customer had come into the store, set down her purse, and realized that her credit cards were missing. Much like an activated sleeper agent, Sister Madalyn sprang into action; she chased the thief down, and successfully managed to get the credit cards back.

“It happens so fast,” she told CBS Local Pittsburgh’s Barry Pintar (see below).

But as previously stated, this isn’t the Sister Madalyn’s first brush with crime: CBS Local Pittsburgh states that she also once confronted a man who demanded money from her store, and has had a gun pointed at her after chasing down a jewelry thief.

“He was walking out the door, and I started following him, and he turned around and said, ‘I don’t want to have to shoot you,’” she recalled. “And I said, ‘Listen, all I want to tell you is Jesus loves you.’

“And then he went out, and I went after him.”

“We’re all His children, whether we know it or not, you know?” Sister Madalyn added. “Sometimes, there’s a lot of crud on us and we have to get that cleaned off to be able to see it.”
