HS Roundup: ECC tennis shuts out Bradford

The ECC girls’ tennis team played against Bradford Wednesday, taking home a 5-0 win.
“ECC played well against a good team. The conditions were ideal to play a tennis match. The girls played well as a team,” ECC coach Mike Jeselnick said. “Certain aspects need improvement but overall the girls adapted and adjusted at critical times during the match.”
ECC ‘s Emma Repko/Lana Elmquist held on to win the first set tiebreaker 7-6(7-4), 6-2 over Kasey Poe/ Elaina Keller at second doubles. First doubles, Lilly O’Connor /Jolene Rippey won over Bradford’s Brooke Komidar/Lily Hawk 6-2,6-2.
The ECC girls swept the singles matches. Anna Biondi won 6-0,6-1 over Emmy Kemick at first singles, Audree Meyer won 6-2,6-2 to win second singles over Jackie Sipko. Arianna Gurosik won 6-0, 6-3 over Kamryn Vossler.

General McLane 11, Bradford 1
Bradford’s Cooper McGee scored for the Owls, on an assist by Jeremiah Long.
The Owls return to action Thursday at the Gatter Cup, facing Randolph, NY.
Ridgway 8, Port Allegany-Smethport 1
Port Allegany-Smethport United boys varsity soccer lost at Ridgway by a score of 8-1 Wednesday.
Ridgeway scorers were Jonah King (2 goals), Mario Casilio (2 goals), Austin Vaccarella (2 goals), Gino Casilio (1 goal, 1 assist) and Dalton Detwiler (1 goal).
Alex Schott scored the lone goal for Port direct off a corner kick.
Gunner Robinson had three saves for the win. Kaiden Bartlett and Aiden Stuckey split time in goal for Port and had four saves and one save respectively.
