Pilon wins, Lady Owls sweep
The Bradford Lady Owls cross country team opened their season with a sweep of St. Marys (24-32), Northern Potter (19-40) and Dubois Central Catholic (17-42).
“This was a nice day to start the year. We have been working out since early July and the girls have worked hard the last two weeks to get ready.” Addie Pilon was 1st overall in her first varsity race in a time of 21:43. “Addie ran a great race. She went out smart the first two miles and ran with two veteran runners. She easily pulled away in the 3rd mile.” Madison Vinelli was 3rd in 22:51 for a personal best. “Maddie has improved tremendously since last year. She put the work in during the offseason to be this level. I’m very proud of her.” Rylann Terwilliger was 7th in 25:40 and Jennifer Bouquin was 9th in 26:10. “Rylann and Jen both had great races to start the season.” Joleen Weimer was 10th in 27:35 and Emma Herne was 12th in 28:02. “Joleen ran a great 2nd half of the race and Emma ran great in her first varsity race too. This was a good start to the season for us.” It’s been a while since we had a 3-0 start to the season.”
