ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills made their final cuts on Tuesday to get their roster down to the 53-player requirement by the 4 p.m. deadline.

One of the biggest stories of training camp was the sensational play of third-year wide receiver Tyrell Shavers. The 26-year-old closed out the preseason with a remarkable one-handed touchdown catch last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Shavers has spent most of his career on the Bills’ practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2023.

The Bills’ cornerback room looks a little different after the team released veteran cornerback Dane Jackson. Buffalo re-signed Jackson earlier this offseason after he spent a season with the Carolina Panthers. Jackson struggled throughout training camp and played into the second half against the Buccaneers last weekend.

Another big summer storyline was the impact made by linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo. He was signed during training camp and made plays in every Bills preseason game. Ciarlo was even featured on Hard Knocks, and the NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger featured his play in the Bucs game. The Bills released Ciarlo with hopes of bringing him back to the practice squad, per multiple reports. The Bills also waived 2024 fifth-round draft pick Edefuan Ulofoshio. The linebacker struggled to move past the third-team defense throughout the summer.
