Bingham Road to close for pipe replacement
CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) McKean County Maintenance Organization will close a portion of Bingham Road (Route 4003) in Lafayette Township on Wednesday for what it expects to be a one-day pipe replacement project.
Replacing the 42-inch pipe located approximately 1.5 miles north of the intersection with Route 59 will prevent uncontrolled water flow from damaging the pavement and extend the service life of the road.
While the road is closed, traffic will follow a detour using routes 646, 770, 219 and 59 around the closure. In the event of rain, PennDOT will start the work Thursday. All construction schedules are tentative due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
