The Bradford Lady Owls cross country team returns 4 letterwinners as they start their 2025 season. “We didn’t lose any seniors from last year’s team but we had a number of runners from last year that decided not to come back out this year. That definitely will impact our depth this season as we have 6 girls on the team for the season.”
Three senior letterwinners are back to lead the way including Jennifer Bouquin, Joleen Weimer and Madison Vinelli. “All three have been on the team for four years and know what it takes in this sport. Madison is running very good right and is leading the workouts with Addie Pilon. She has worked very hard over the past few years and has improved tremendously. I think she is going to have a big year.” Jennifer was one of our top runners throughout last year and is coming off an injury from track season last year. But Jen is a very hard worker and will consistently be in our top 4 all year.’ Joleen is very experienced and is a very hard working runner. She brings a lot of positive motivation to the team and will improve as the season goes on.”
Rylann Terwilliger is the lone sophomore letterwinner/member on the team. “Rylann was our top runner at districts last year and ran well in a lot of big meets. She is a hard worker and she will be in that top four on the team.” Two freshman join the high school team from the middle school team, Addie Pilon and Emma Herne. “Addie had an outstanding season last year winning three invitationals including the McQuaid Invitational. She has been running right with Maddie in the workouts and I’m excited to see her run in the meets.” Emma has been in the top five during the preseason and will improve throughout the year. She has been doing great in practice. The biggest challenge for these two will be adapting to the increase in distance in the races.”
“The big key this year is going to stay healthy throughout the year. We have a few more dual meets this year due to the new league but we do have a league championship which is exciting. That will be a great way to recognize the top runners in our area. We have our normal competitive invitational scheduling as we get ready for the end of year meets (Districts and states). All of the girls have been working hard both throughout the summer and the last two weeks of official practice and I’m ready to get some meets in.” The Lady Owls kick off the season at home Tuesday August 26 against St. Mary’s, DCC and Northern Potter.
