Bradford man jailed for alleged strangulation
A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly strangling two women during confrontations Aug. 17.
Montana Moore, 27, of 14 Cherry St., is charged in each case with strangulation, a second-degree felony; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary offense.
Court records allege that Moore choked two women at his residence. One of the victims was outside the home and heard the other victim call her name. She went inside and saw Moore assaulting the other female. When she attempted to intervene, Moore directed his aggression toward her, hitting her multiple times and choking her.
The other victim was found in her vehicle, and told police Moore tried to break her neck, choked her and hit her. She said he pulled out a chunk of her hair, according to court records.
He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail in each case. He is scheduled for Central Court on Thursday.
