Locals like Denise Balon were delighted Monday when Margaret and Rocky McCarthy of Brockport brought their donkey, Junebug, in for a visit at Smethport Senior Center. Junebug is a miniature Mediterranean donkey, also called a Jerusalem donkey. They are known for their small size and dark, cross-shaped markings on their backs. A dark shoulder stripe and a dorsal stripe form the cross. They are known for being friendly and intelligent, and making great companions.
