    Cindy Lloyd

SMETHPORT — Cindy S. Lloyd, 67, of Smethport passed away with her loving family and friends by her side Wednesday (Aug. 13, 2025) at UPMC Williamsport, after a short illness.

Born Friday, April 11, 1958, in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Harry E. Stanley and Dorothea I. Hopewell Stanley. On July 7, 1971, in Covington, Ga., she married Ralph L. Lloyd, who passed away Dec. 26, 2003.

Cindy graduated from high school and furthered her education by attaining an associate degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business. In 1981, Cindy enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving through October 2002 and retiring with the rank of captain.

While in the military, Cindy became a licensed practical nurse (LPN), serving as a nurse with the 117th MASH Unit in Atlanta. Upon retiring from the army, she returned to Smethport to care for her aging father. Once there, she worked for Sena Kean Manor, Pediatric Services of America, and for Bradford Manor.

Cindy was a longtime member of the former CMA Church in Shinglehouse. She had been a member of 4-H from age 8 to 18, showing her horses at both the Potter and McKean county fairs.

Surviving are two brothers, Thomas E. (Marilyn) Stanley of Covington and Randy L. (Karen) Stanley of Shinglehouse; a sister, Kathy D. Manning of Lilburn, Ga.; her longtime companion, Lane Taylor of Smethport; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cindy was predeceased by a brother, Ricky Roy Stanley.

In keeping with Cindy’s wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cindy’s name may be made to an SPCA of the donor’s choice.

Cindy entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.

To express condolences, light a candle or share a fond memory of Cindy, please visit virgillhowardfuneralhome.com or the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home Facebook page.
