Pipe replacement to close part of Route 46
CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that its McKean County Maintenance Organization will close a portion of Route 46 in Foster Township on Wednesday for a pipe replacement project.
Replacing the 54-inch pipe located approximately 1.25 miles north of the intersection with Route 646 will prevent uncontrolled water flow from damaging the pavement, and extend the service life of the road.
While the road is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 646 and Route 246 around the closure. In the event of rain, PennDOT will start the work Thursday. Work should be complete in one or two days, but all schedules are weather-dependent.
