Harsen named Employee of Quarter by Pitt office
Lt. Richard Harsen, director of campus police and safety at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, was named Employee of the Quarter by the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management.
Vice Chancellor Ted Fritz and Commander Bradley Kiefer presented the award to Harsen following a joint exercise at Pitt-Bradford. Pitt-Bradford police are part of the university’s full police service.
Fritz praised Harsen’s leadership at Pitt-Bradford, particularly through a time of understaffing, and said he serves as a positive role model for officers and supervisors on campus.
Fritz also praised Harsen’s organization and reporting, which can be crucial during legal proceedings.
Harsen has led the Pitt-Bradford Campus Police since 2015, joining the force after a 32-year career with the Bradford City Police, many of those working with young people.
