Marlene Kijowski
CORAOPOLIS — Marlene K. Kijowski, 91, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully Aug. 2, 2025, in Pittsburgh.
Born July 10, 1934, in Clearfield, she was a daughter of the Rev. Adolph and Alma Kammrath.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John, and their sons, Mark and Michael.
After high school, Marlene worked as a laboratory technician for Westinghouse Electric in Pittsburgh where she met John. However, she is best remembered for her involvement in the community and the creative and performing arts, starting with her work volunteering for Symphony East in Pittsburgh. After the family moved to Bradford in 1975, she later served on the board of BCPAC, receiving the Jackie Award in 2007. She also volunteered for the Bradford YWCA, designed and sewed costumes for the high school theater and madrigal singers, Kiwanis Kapers, Crook Farm, Bradford Little Theatre and Olean, N.Y., Community Theater, and she often played the organ for Emanuel Lutheran Church services.
The family will organize a memorial service in Bradford later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
