    BAHS Golf returns 5 Letterwinners

    The Bradford Area High School boys’ golf team has 27 boys out for the team this season, with 14 returning players from last season.

    “We are a young team with most of our experience coming from our juniors and sophomores,” Bradford coach Travis Faulkner said. “Our returning letterwinners are: Senior Daniel Marasco, who was our third guy last season.  He has several rounds in the low 40’s and we hope he continues to get better.  Next returning letterwinner is Junior Tarren Reese. He is a two-time letterwinner and has been our top guy the last two seasons. He made the second day of Districts, coming up short qualifying for states.

    “Ean Wright, a junior lettered for us last season. Ean has made huge improvements over the last year. He had a successful Penn York Junior Golf League season. He qualified for the Men’s Amateur at Bartlett Country Club. We expect him to be one of our top guys.”

    Sophomores Jamin Bell and Maverick Smith are also returning letterwinners.

    “Jamin was a big surprise last season and Maverick is getting better every day,” Faulkner said. “Other returning players that will help us this season are seniors Cooper Haight and Ben Woodhouse.  Those guys have been with us for many years and know what it takes to play.”

    “Juniors Mason Close and Zach Newell and sophomores Ryder Christjohn, Lucus Sokoly, and Jackson Peterson look to contribute this season. Freshman Adam Leet looks like our strongest newcomer so far and will look to get in some varsity matches,” Faulkner said. “As a team we are looking good. Five of our players played in tournaments all summer while gaining valuable experience. I think we have a few guys on our roster that will move up and push some of our varsity. It is tough to tell with only having a few practices before our first match. They are all working hard in practice and making improvements.”

    The 2025 roster is as follows:

    Seniors: Cooper Haight, Daniel Marasco, Konnor Phillips, Sean Storer, and Ben Woodhouse;

    Juniors: Mason Close, Zach Newell, Sven Olsson, Andrew Oxendine, Tarren Reese, Isaac Wallace, and Ean Wright;

    Sophomores: Jamin Bell, Shiloh Case, Ryder Christjohn, Grayson Daugherty, Jay Parisella, Jackson Peterson, Cole Sloan, Maverick Smith, and Lucas Sokoly;

    Freshmen: Jacob Calkins, Adam Leet, Kaine Salada, Owen Strotman, PJ Stitt, and Josh Woodhouse.

    Volunteer assistant coaches this season are Jeff Sambol, Earl Wright and Mitch Faulkner.

    Owls Finish Sixth at Coudy Invitational

    COUDERSPORT – The Bradford Owls boys golf team placed sixth of 12 teams with a score of 262 at the Coudersport invitational Monday. ECC was the champion with 241.

    Leading the way for Bradford was Tarren Reese with an 83.

    “Tarren had one birdie, eight pars, and five bogeys. He was very consistent today but is still looking for better scoring,” Faulkner said. “Ean Wright shot an 88. Ean had six pars and eight bogeys. He was over 20 strokes lower than last year.

    “Mason Close was our third guy with a 91.  Mason had four pars and nine bogeys. He shot well considering it was his first time on the course.  Daniel Marasco shot 95 with 10 bogeys. Danny will turn those bogeys into pars as the season moves forward.   Freshman Adam Leet in his first varsity match shot 98.  He had one birdie, two pars and eight bogeys.  We were impressed with his play today.  Lucas Sokoly shot 117.

    The Owls travel to St. Marys Wednesday for a 2 p.m. start.
