‘Round the Square: Pennsylvania Bucket List
BUCKET LIST: We hear the term a lot since the 2007 film — “The Bucket List.” It’s a list of things to do before you, well, “kick the bucket.” Hey, we didn’t name it.
There’s a website called PA Bucket List by Rusty Glessner, who features picturesque, historical and must-see attractions all across Pennsylvania.
Back in April, he featured McKean County attractions in a must-see list: The Zippo/Case Museum, the Eldred World War II Museum, the Marilla Bridges Trail, Kinzua Bridge State Park and the Penn Brad Oil Museum.
At the end of that story was another, on the 14 places to see in Potter County. Here they are: Cherry Springs State Park and it’s incredible dark skies for stargazing, Lyman Run State Park, Cherry Springs Vista overlook, Boone Run Vista, Ole Bull State Park, Austin Dam Memorial Park, Bayless Paper Mill ruins, Water Tank Vista, the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, Denton Hill State Park, Longtoe Vista, Sinnemahoning State Park, Pine Hill Summit Vista, and Susquehannock State Forest.
There’s a page for 12 must-see attractions in Cameron County, too. You can hike the Fred Woods Trail, visit Bucktail Overlook, explore Sinnemahoning State Park (it’s in Cameron and Potter counties), visit Wykoff Run Falls, explore the abandoned nuclear jet engine testing bunkers (for real, in the Quehanna Wild Area), hike to Sinnemahoning Canyon Vista, visit the Tom Mix Historical Marker, explore the Ridge Road Vistas, visit the elk herd, visit the Bucktail Regiment Memorial, visit Emporium Overlook, and explore the 100 mile yard sale (it’s already happened this year).
How many places have you been? There’s plenty more places highlighted at pabucketlist.com including Elk County and the best places to view the elk herd.
