Make-A-Wish® needs local volunteers
PUNXSUTAWNEY — Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia is seeking volunteers to join its incredible team of wish granters, who assist with everything from helping children brainstorm ideas for their wish to organizing fundraisers.
For those interested in volunteering, Make-A-Wish is hosting a virtual volunteer training session via Zoom from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 6.
Interested applicants should fill out this brief interest form and will be contacted shortly with next steps: wish.org/greaterpawv/vol. Those who are not available for the September training session are still encouraged to fill out the form to be in the loop for the next session.
A volunteer base is essential to carrying out our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child with a critical illness. As members of “wish teams,” volunteers are the faces of Make-A-Wish in their local communities. Working together with Make-A-Wish staff, the “wish team” is assigned to a local child and meets with their family to begin the wish journey. Some volunteering may be done virtually.
For more information on the impact wishes have on children facing critical illnesses, contact Regional Manager Lacy Bair at lbair@greaterpawv.wish.org or (814) 938-8888.
